Want to try something new? Looking for something fun and creative to do on a Saturday morning? Want to create a unique, handcrafted gift to commemorate something special?

The process is easy: Select a tile from those provided by the instructor. Choose a photo or object from the selection provided or bring your own photo or object to draw. Draw a picture on tracing paper working from the photo. Transfer the drawing to the tile using white chalk. Then complete the drawing using Prismacolor pencils or another brand with a high content of soft wax. The instructor will offer advice and suggestions on how to achieve the color and depth that will make your drawing glow. If you are supplying your own subject matter it’s suggested that you bring several different photos or objects to class. Since every sheet of tile is unique this will make it easier to choose one that works well for the subject.

SUPPLY LIST: • Exacto knife with multiple blades • White chalk board chalk for transferring drawing • Tracing paper • Graphite pencils for drawing • Prismacolor pencils for final drawing on slate • Instructor will provide slate tiles
