Dupage Art League Annex

The DuPage Art League is a not-for-profit art school and gallery. Our aim is to promote and encourage the visual arts through classes, workshops, gallery exhibits, free public fine arts programs, exhibits by our artists in numerous commercial and public buildings, and financial endowments to public institutions of arts education and scholarships to students. All donations and gifts to the League are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.

About Our Monthly Open Programs Every month from September through April (excluding December), the DuPage Art League hosts free programs that are open to the public on the third Monday of each month. Artists and experts connected with the arts provide demonstrations, give talks, and share their secrets. These are fun, relaxed, and casual opportunities to mingle with fellow artists and learn something new. The program runs from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and includes refreshments. These are most often held at the Annex, 225 W. Front Street (the old bank building) and not 218 Front St. *These programs are FREE to both members and non-members, so why not bring a friend to the next one! September 17, 2018 Pat Armbruster – “For the Love of Portraiture… a demo and conversation.” Have you seen a portrait that captured your attention? Have you been tempted to try your hand at this subject matter? Pat Armbruster will share what she has learned about set up, lighting, color choices and placement on the canvas while using a model to demonstrate these principles. She will bring examples of her work and also paintings that are a part of her collection. Hopefully, you will be enticed to enjoy this subject matter with new confidence. October 15, 2018 George Bruce – Oil Pastels After studying Architecture and Graphic Design and spending a career in the design world, George is now free to be creative without restrictions. He will demonstrate how Oil Pastels are an extremely creative medium. Used by themselves or mixed with other mediums, the creativity is endless. You may even be inspired to investigate Oil Pastels and see for yourself the versatility they offer. November 19, 2018 Lauren Peterson - “Painting” with Powdered Charcoal
