Join us for the grand opening of a new exhibit on the “old” Glen Ellyn jail at Stacy’s Corners Store in partnership with the Glen Ellyn Police Department.
The jail, originally located in the Civic Center, was closed after decades of use when the new Glen Ellyn Police Department building was opened in 2017. Parts of the original jail have been reconstructed in Stacy’s Corners Store, including cell doors, bunk, toilet, and wooden bench in the holding area.
A ribbon cutting by the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce will commence at 11 a.m., and at 2 p.m. a speaker from the Police Department will be talking about the organization. There will be a DARE ... view more »
