Starting with just a few products and her original patterns, Shawn Sargent Designs opened her retail shop and workspace on July 7, 2015, in downtown Glen Ellyn. Engaging with customers, participating in shows and downtown events, and working to grow her business has inspired even more ideas for new products, designs and new directions.

Her company now offers more than a dozen different product lines, all designed with the goal of making your “everyday” a little brighter, easier and more joyful.

In addition to her retail store and online business, Shawn Sargent Designs also offers creative classes, camps and parties in sewing, design and mixed media for Kids & Adults.

A teacher at heart, Shawn has taught mixed media art for many years, and she’s thrilled to use her creative talents working with new groups of students and guiding them through sewing and design projects!

Her background as an artist, writer and editor provides a unique perspective and approach to her surface and textile designs as well as her teaching.

Her drawings, often spontaneous sketches that bring to life a quirky character
or the beginnings of a pattern, come from years of practice as a fine artist
and editor, and her designs and patterns reflect her unique aesthetic.
