A joyful and slightly off-beat celebration featuring the music of Beethoven, Mussorgsky, Golijov, and more alongside rarely seen silent films from the 1930s.
Our Día de los Muertos concert will explore themes of loss, transformation, humor, and celebration through evocative music and quirky silent films presented in partnership with Chicago Film Archives. Featuring familiar favorites like Night On Bald Mountain alongside contemporary works by Carlos Rafael Rivera and culminating in Galindo’s Sones de Mariachi, this concert will move you to dance all the way home!
