10th Annual Performance
Organic Theater Company of Chicago returns to the Meiley-Swallow Hall in Naperville for its 10th Anniversary production of Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol. The Organic is committed to staging bold, relevant productions of classic, contemporary, and adapted works with a permanent group of artists over a sustained period of time.
You probably know Jacob Marley as the ghostly former business partner of Ebenezer Scrooge in Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In Organic’s production of the award-winning play by Chicago’s Tom Mula, we follow Marley in a story of his own. Along with a cheery sprite named Bogle, Marley travels through space and time, revealing a new side to the holiday classic. As it turns out, behind Scrooge’s adventure, Jacob Marley also visits boyhood struggles, modern day merriment, and a glimpse of what’s yet to come. Share in the joy of Marley’s fresh start by joining Marley and Bogle on their hilarious and touching journey.
Reprising their roles from last season’s production, Organic Theater Company Artistic Associate Richard L. Gross takes on the titular role of Jacob Marley, supported by Company Members Bryan Wakefield as Scrooge, Colin Jackson as the Record Keeper and Artistic Associate Amy Powell as the Bogle. This year’s production is again directed by Company Member Josh Anderson and stage managed by Company Member Angela Kring. Designers include Company Member Tony Reimer – Sound, and Artistic Associates Melanie Parks – Costumes, and Ryan Breneisen – Lights. Set design is by Terrance McClellan, an Organic veteran.
