"I enjoy being challenged by my work. I experience great delight in the physical demands of painting,
and the processes of creating. I experience great pleasure walking into a lumber yard and deciding
which one of the pieces of wood will end up as a work of art.
The demands of color choice and consideration of how the pigments will play with and against each other,
are all an enjoyable parts of the creation process. It is my hope that these paintings construct a rich evocative
visual experience. My work combines color and shape, with compositional structure and illusion of
space formulating works that are both pleasing and challenging to the eye.”
