This incredible band featuring world-class musicians who played with the legendary Lionel Hampton will perform a memorable mix of jazz, swing and bebop. This concert was originally scheduled for the Lakeside Pavilion this past summer as part of the WDCB LIVE Jazz Concert Series but was cancelled due to travel issues. This rescheduled concert is presented in partnership with WDCB Public Radio from College of DuPage.

The New Lionel Hampton Big Band features Jason Marsalis and world-class musicians who played with Hamp himself: Cleave Guyton Jr, Lance Bryant, and Christian Fabian. “Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus, Quincy Jones, Oscar Peterson, Dizzie Gillespie – they all played with Hamp” says Lance Bryant, the last musical director for Lionel Hampton.
