This workshop is designed to teach you how to render an object with tone (shading) to create the illusion of a three-dimensional object on a two-dimensional space.
In the first part of the workshop you will learn how to "see" an object with the intention of rendering it. Participants will practice hatching techniques with graphite pencils to create tone. In the second part of the workshop, you will implement the techniques using charcoal to create light and shadow and complete a fully realized drawing in tone.
