The Nitty Gritty of Marketing Yourself as an Artist – Gain professional insight and advice about how to create a successful Etsy Store, and the value of a professionally written Artist Biography. This event takes place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., September 23, 2017 at Park Art Center, 9 East Park Blvd., Villa Park, IL. Space is limited and registration is required by September 20 through Eventbrite. Light refreshments. Free, with a suggested donation of $5.00 at the door.

Park Art Center recognizes that many artists’ training does not include the tools and information that would enable unrecognized artists to successfully position themselves professionally as a creative artist. Artists work for years developing their craft, however, there are many other business savvy tasks to complete in order to promote yourself as an artist and market your work successfully and profitably. This event is designed to help artists bring their work to the public, gaining appreciation, recognition, and profitability.

Sean McMenemy, an animation artist who also enjoys urban sketching, painting, photography, and co-founder of Studios 630, will share insight on how to create a successful Etsy store. Also on the agenda is freelance writer, Colette Freeman, who will discuss the value of a professionally written artist biography, including what it should and should not contain, and how it will be used on behalf of the artist.
