The Sweet Potatoes with Blackest Crow opening @ Maple Street Chapel

Presented by Maple Street Concerts at Maple Street Chapel

The Sweet Potatoes dish up their own unique blend of country, folk and homespun Americana. Featuring acoustic guitars, ukulele, accordion and harmonica, this trio will bring a smile to your face with sweet vocal harmonies and finely crafted songwriting. They come out of Southern California, but with roots in the Midwest. Laura Hall grew up in theĀ western suburbs of Chicago before moving to L.A. to play piano on the hit show, "Whose Line is it Anyway". Rick Hall has been seen on countless TV shows, films and commercials and was raised on a farm in central Illinois. Kelly Macleod is from Shreveport, LA, and is an actress as well as singer.

Chicago-based Blackest Crow will do an opening set to kick off our 2017-2018 Season. Blackest Crow draws its inspiration from a wide range of Americana music, especially Early Country and Old Time. The band offers traditional and fresh approaches to crowd favorites as well as lesser-known musical gems, featuring a rich mixture of tragic love songs, sweet waltzes, and driving fiddle tunes. Blackest Crow is Annalee Koehn (guitar and vocals), Steve Hinds (fiddle and viola), and Marc Edelstein (bass).
