The Downers Grove Choral Society, with Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, will present the opening to its 65th Season Sunday,  November 19, 2023 with the concert Of Psalms and Prophets.

This concert features Leonard Bernstein’s  Chichester Psalms, Rosephanye Powell’s The Cry of Jeremiah and David McK Williams’  In the Year That  King Uzziah Died.

The concert will be presented with Kevin Lange, organ; Sean Kopp, Andrew Czerny and Zachary Wittenborn, percussion; Cellletine Harig, harp; Malcolm Kelsey, soloist and Downers Grove Councilman Martin Tully, narrator.

Of Psalms and Prophets will be presented at Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL. There will be a pre-concert discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4:00 p.m. concert.
