Festival of Lights, Lego Trains and Civilization, Ugly Sweaters, and Coca-Cola Memoribilia

Presented by Bloomingdale Park District Museum at Bloomingdale Park District Museum

GALLERY I

In our modern gallery we will be showing Coca-Cola and Sprite memorabilia as well as the much-anticipated Lego train. Come view some of the vast artwork, ads, and memorabilia from the 137-year-old drink. Be sure to check out the trivia around the room and recall some of the original ads from these iconic drinks. And, back by popular demand, we will have our Lego Train! This extravagant Lego art piece will have meticulously built castles, houses, people, and 11 working trains that will swing and swerve among them all. This colorful assortment of created civilization all encapsulated in Legos will feature new pieces as well as all of the fan favorites.

GALLERY II

In our original, 1849 gallery, you will be able to see our large collection of “ugly” Christmas sweaters. Marvel at the bright, sometimes eclectic colors and figures on the sweaters we have on display. Can you spot any that you own? There will also be many events and classes held in this room including Bingo and Visits with Santa, Carriage rides in the Old Town Park, and Cookie Decorating. If you would like to attend any of these events, please register at bloomingdaleparks.org or by calling BPD at 630-529-3650.

The Bloomingdale Park District Museum will be open at special times for the Festival of Lights. These times are in addition to the event times.

Festival of Lights Museum hours: Thursdays: 6 PM-8:30 PM, Fridays: 6 PM-8:30 PM, and Saturdays: 2 PM-4:30 PM.
