Visitors to the inaugural Christmas at Cantigny celebration are in for a special holiday treat, including McCormick House walk-throughs, ice skating, and dazzling light installations.
Visitors to the inaugural “Christmas at Cantigny” celebration will experience dazzling light installations throughout the gardens and grounds of the 500-acre Wheaton estate, the former home of Robert R. McCormick. In addition, the newly renovated McCormick House, lavishly decorated for the holidays, will be open to the public for the first time since 2020. A temporary ice-skating rink outside the Visitors Center will stay open all winter. Christmas at Cantigny runs through Dec. 30 (closed Mondays and Dec 24-26). Cantigny's regular daily parking fee is $5 per car. Parking is free on the first Wednesday of every month. On Saturdays and Sundays, May through September, parking is $10. The $10 rate also applies on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Parking is free at all times for Cantigny Park members, Honor Club members, and those attending ticketed events or other fee-based programs.
