Wearable Art and Quilting America

Wearable Art and Quilting America

Presented by Bloomingdale Park District Museum at Bloomingdale Park District Museum

Gallery I: Wearable Art -  Artists participating in this show include women working in both soft and hard materials. Some choose to adorn the body with textiles, while others choose metals. Occasionally, an artist combines textiles and metal.

The gallery includes originally designed garments, contemporary in style. Show cases feature a dazzling assortment of jewelry in silver, gold and base metals, and settings using polished stones.

Participating artists include Connie Blieszner, Susan Infante, Kay Lange, Robin Schoenburg, Heather Winslow, Claudia Engel-Rush, Marge Petronis, Katherine Steinbring, Linda Bingle, Jennifer Cho and Tammy Deck.

Gallery II: Quilting Americana -  Loose Threads, a local quilting group, presents an exhibit of quilts which portray their pride in America. This colorful show amazes the viewer with the skillfully-done intricate designs stitched by hand and machine.
