Strength to Love and the Kingdom Agenda: M.L.K. Symposium

Presented by Wheaton College Conservatory of Music at Addison Trail High School

On January 16th, Wheaton College will host the M.L.K Symposium in honor of the Preaching Ministry of Dr. King. Church leaders and pastors will gather on Wheaton’s campus to reflect on the theme, “Strength to Love and the Kingdom Agenda,” in response to Dr. King’s message to the Church to proclaim the gospel in difficult times. The symposium will consist of Sermonic reflections from the book “Strength to Love”, a classic collection of sermons preached by Martin Luther King, Jr.

Dr. Hill's research explores the relationship between rhetoric and social change related to race, culture and American politics. Specifically, he examines the role of radical rhetoric as a crucial form of civic engagement and public advocacy. His previous work on rhetoric and social change in political, social movement, and religious contexts has appeared in edited collections and scholarly journals.

This event is free and open to the public and will take place in Billy Graham Hall, Room 105 Barrows Auditorium, located at 500 College Avenue in Wheaton. For more information, contact Angulus Wilson at 630.752.5445 or chaplains.office@wheaton.edu.
