Patricia Melekus at Wheaton Public Library

Presented by Wheaton Public Library at Wheaton Public Library

Wheaton Public Library regularly hosts exhibits in its Arts & Culture Center, located on the first floor of the library. This is part of an ongoing effort to support local and regional artists and connect them with current and future art appreciators in the community.

October Display: Patricia Melekus

Patricia Melekus captures abstract ideas, feelings, and dreams in her art, which has evolved into her own signature style of modern surrealism. Her inspiration comes from the beauty of nature, music, family and cultural events that capture her mind and imagination.

Patricia began studying art in Slovakia and continued after moving to the United States in 2002. She uses various mediums, including watercolor, ceramics, oil, acrylic, and mixed media in large format. She invented and refined a technique that combines properties of acrylic paints and molding paste.

Patricia hides an Eiffel Tower in each piece, which engages the viewer to explore all the detail and symbolism that she meticulously creates.
