Remembrance of Things Present: Works by Rita Grendze and Ana Zanic

Presented by Aurora University at Schingoethe Center

Natasha Ritsma, Schingoethe director, said Ana Zanic and Rita Grendze create process-driven abstract work that is poetic, playful, and evocative.

Inspired by literature, material exploration and meditative practices, their works in the exhibition explore the themes of migration, memory, language and nature of beauty.

Grendze creates installations, sculptures and drawings that are bold, colorful, and tactile as well as thoughtful and compassionate at its core.

Zanic is known for her stunning watercolors and ceramics which are meditative, contemplative, and ethereal.

Ritsma said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase a variety of outstanding local talent this fall at Aurora University.

An opening reception is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 5:00 - 6:30 pm and will be followed by a classical guitar presentation featuring Ric Larsen, AU classical guitar instructor, Jim Perona and Francis Balquin,
