Remembrance of Things Present: Works by Rita Grendze and Ana Žanić
Remembrance of Things Present is a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Geneva, Illinois artists Rita Grendze and Ana Žanić. Both artists create process-driven abstract work that is poetic, playful, and evocative. Grendze creates installations, sculptures, and drawings, while Žanić works primarily in watercolor and ceramics. Inspired by literature, material exploration, and meditative practices, the work in this exhibition considers the themes of migration, memory, language, and the nature of beauty.
Sound Carvings: Ric Larsen
The exhibition, Sound Carvings, visually portrays Ric Larsen’s process of creating handmade guitars. He begins by selecting distinct woods originating in multiple continents before carving and assembling core parts of the instrument and assiduously polishing the finished product.
