Cantigny Park introduces expanded hours and free entertainment options on Wednesday evenings, highlighted by the illuminated sculptures of “Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World.”
The new after-hours series, “Cantigny de Noche,” literally shines a light on the park’s popular outdoor art installation. Visitors can take a guided Alebrijes Art Walk to learn about the inspiration behind the Mexican sculptures and the methods used to create them.
Cantigny de Noche programming will vary week to week through October, with line-ups posted on Cantigny.org. Special programming is planned for some evenings, such as outdoor movies, concerts, and culinary classes. Other weeks, visitors may wish to take a quiet stroll in the gardens, enjoying the flowers and lighted sculptures, perhaps with a glass of wine or the week's featured cocktail in hand.
Activities and entertainment are included in the park’s $5-per-car weekday parking fee. Food and beverages are extra.
The Cantigny Visitors Center is open until 8 pm every Wednesday, including the Cantigny Shop for alebrije-related merchandise, and Bertie’s Café for ice cream and other treats.
