Elmhurst Children’s Theatre invites Elmhurst and surrounding communities to join the Lost Boys and “never grow up” when its cast performs J.M. Barrie’s classic tale Peter Pan, JR., a modern version of the timeless story about the adventures of a mischievous boy.

Packed with high-flying adventure, endearing songs and a bit of comedy, the show is perfect for all ages. In Peter Pan JR., Peter visits the Darling children late one night in search of his lost shadow. With a sprinkle of pixie dust, they begin a magical journey across the stars to Neverland. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers meet Peter’s fellow Lost Boys and come face to face with a ticking crocodile, fierce Brave Girls, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook. Featuring the iconic songs, "I'm Flying," "I've Gotta Crow," "I Won't Grow Up" and "Never Never Land," Peter Pan JR. is the perfect show for the child in all of us who dreamed of soaring high and never growing up.

Peter Pan, JR. is produced under the direction of Kelly Bricker, Michelle Maiers (Music Director), and Emily Walker (Choreographer).  Peter Pan, JR. features incredibly talented youth performers, many of whom are seasoned actors in Elmhurst through ECT and their school performances. “Working on Peter Pan JR. with the ECT team and this talented cast of kids has been so much fun. Our theme and focus for this show has been based on a great quote from J.M. Barrie, ‘Much of it will have to be imagined, as it should be.’ The minimalist approach of the summer show and outdoor performances has allowed the kids to be really creative, get adventurous and just have fun. They have done an incredible job of getting performance ready in just a handful of weeks. I’m so proud of the work they’ve done!”

ABOUT ECT

Elmhurst Children’s Theatre (ECT) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit children’s theatre company.  Dedicated to serving the children of Elmhurst, ECT provides a unique experience in all aspects of live theatre by promoting a supportive and positive learning environment.

Children in fifth through eighth grade who live in Elmhurst or attend District 205 or parochial schools in Elmhurst may audition for ECT productions. Each year, ECT stages two mainstage productions, a summer show and the Unintentionally Hilarious Sketch Comedy Troupe,  hiring professional directors and relying on parent volunteers to manage productions and rehearsals, create costumes and sets, and more. ECT offers classes for children in third through eighth grades.
