This exhibition will feature work from approximately 40 students from People’s Resource Center’s (PRC) Kids Art after school program in grades Kindergarten through 8. The Kids Art program seeks to promote creative self-expression and increased self-esteem among 5-13 year-old economically disadvantaged youths during after school programming in neighborhood facilities. This is accomplished by providing access to art education experiences, dedicated space, caring and compassionate teachers, and art materials. Kids Art creates opportunities for public acknowledgment of each student’s work while challenging young people to envision and shape new possibilities for themselves. Through Kids Art, children are given a voice, encouragement, and a chance to find their inner creativity. This exhibition will feature work from several of PRC's partner sites including Henry Hyde Community Resource Center, Outreach Community Ministries, Puente del Pueblo, and Naperville YMCA Safe N Sound. There will be an art activity for children attending the reception as well as refreshments.
