West Suburban Symphony Orchestra: Rays of Sunshine Concert

The Hinsdale-based West Suburban Symphony, under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Peter Lipari, performs Rays of Sunshine, a concert of light-hearted music, at 3:30 pm Sunday, February 6, in the auditorium of Christ Church of Oak Brook, 31st Street and York Road, Oak Brook.

The concert features music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Gustav Holst, Percy Grainger, and Gordon Jacob. The orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Symphony 8, selections from Holst’s Perfect Fool opera, Grainger’s Shepherd’s Hey and Molly on the Shore, and Jacobs’ Fantasia on the Alleluia Hymn and The Barber of Seville Goes to the Devil.

“This is a perfect way to lift your spirits and look ahead to spring,” says Symphony president Richard Lukes.

The concert will be presented without intermission and will run for about 75 minutes. Audience members of all ages will be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination at the door and wear a facial mask while in the building.
