Free Concert by Judson University Choir

Free Concert by Judson University Choir

Presented by Artist Series -- St. John's Lutheran Church, Lombard at St. John's Lutheran Church

The event was previously scheduled for spring of 2020, but was postponed due to COVID concerns.

The Judson University Choir is well-known for its numerous tours at home and abroad. The choir performs a variety of music, ranging from choral masterworks to black gospel anthems to Taizé choruses to contemporary praise and worship songs. Historically they tour within the United States two times each year and have regularly toured Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The choir performs under the direction of Dr. Warren Anderson, a Judson alumnus (’86).  Anderson serves also as Director of Judson’s Demoss Center for Worship in the Performing Arts, with responsibilities that include directing the Judson University Choir and teaching in the Worship Arts and Music departments.  A Judson “lifer,” Anderson also has served his alma mater as Dean of the Chapel, Director of Christian Ministries, and Lecturer in Communication Arts during his 30+ years as a Judson faculty/staff member.

The Choir will be joined in their Lombard appearance by Judson alumnus and Artist-in-Residence Rev. Huntley Brown, internationally known concert pianist who has performed with many well-known ministries, including the Billy Graham Association.

The public is cordially invited to attend the concert and the reception.  No tickets will be sold for the program; a free-will offering will be received.

St. John’s Lutheran Church is located on the southeast corner of Lincoln and Maple Streets in Lombard.  Information about St. John’s Artist Series is available by calling the church office, 630-629-2515.
