Downers Grove Summer Concert: The Blooze Brothers

Downers Grove Summer Concert: The Blooze Brothers

Presented by Downers Grove Park District at Fishel Park

The Downers Grove Park District has reformatted the 2021 Summer Concert Series to meet state guidelines and capacity requirements to safely offer this event to the community. We ask for your patience as the concerts will be hosted in a different format as we navigate through the pandemic this summer. We hope to return to our usual concert format in 2022 if possible.

June 15: The Blooze Brothers: For nearly three decades, the Blooze Brothers has been one of Chicagoland’s most in-demand show bands.  We not only honor the music made by the original Blues Brothers in movies, TV, and recordings, but the spirit in which they played – from Dan Aykroyd’s love of traditional blues and soul to John Belushi’s love of classic rock.  Like Aykroyd and Belushi, we fuse those great musical traditions into a stage show that energizes and delights hundreds of thousands of music fans across the greater Chicago area and beyond every year.

Coming Soon:

June 22: Brass from the Past: Brass from the Past is one of Chicago’s best cover bands. Featuring Chicagoland’s top-tier touring and studio musicians, the band offers an unstoppable 6-piece horn section, tight 4-piece rhythm section, and 3 powerful singers who command the stage. This is no ordinary band! Brass from the Past performs the music of your soul and brings you back to the 60s, 70s, and 80s — a playlist no other band can touch. The classics of Motown, R&B, funk, soul, and rock are our specialties. We cover the music of Stevie Wonder, Four Tops, Temptations, Michael Jackson, Chicago, Aretha Franklin, James Brown, BS&T, Pattie Labelle, Bruno Mars, Chaka Kahn, O’Jays, Tower of Power, Prince, Tina Turner, Bee Gees, and many, many more.

June 29: Petty Cash: PettyCash is a high octane stage show appropriate for old rockers, baby rockers and everything in between.  The combined years of musical experience in this band equals...roughly...1,000 so you’re guaranteed to see some shredding too.  But sorry folks...they won’t kick out the footlights unless it is specifically requested by those die hard aficionados.  So don’t be Petty...just give ‘em some Cash and wait for your new, favorite cover band to spark a love affair with you...like Johnny & June!

July 6: Generation: Generation brings it All to the Stage! It's a "Rock Show" of Iconic, Popular Hits Not defined by Decades... but some of the best Groundbreaking Music of our Time!  Beatles to Stones...Bowie to Led Zeppelin...Aretha to Sly Stone... Songs always sure to bring Smilin' Faces in the Crowd! The Band is POWERFUL.... the Songs UNFORGETTABLE....a PEFORMANCE that makes the Audience part of the Excitement and FUN, Happening on Stage!

Aug. 3: Sushi Roll: Formed in early 2012, Sushi Roll quickly perfected their own unique blend of high-energy dance music and rock n roll swagger and then topped it off with memorable stage costumes, inspired by cosplay, anime, and superheroes. Founded by music industry vets and fronted by two of the most mesmerizing young lead singer's in Chicago, Sushi Roll is made up of one part driving rock band, one part light-hearted pop, and one part over-the-top theatrical verve. They easily transition between revved-up versions of your favorite pop and rock hits by artists like Bruno Mars, Rick Springfield, Lady Gaga, Nelly, AC/DC, P!nk, Neon Tree's and the Jackson 5 connecting them into one a non-stop musical journey that is perfect entertainment for an outdoor concert!
