Illinois Prairie Weavers Presents The Weaving Mill: Art, Industry, Philanthropy

Illinois Prairie Weavers Presents The Weaving Mill: Art, Industry, Philanthropy

Presented by Illinois Prairie Weavers Guild at Online/Virtual Space

Illinois Prairie Weavers presents Emily Winter, co-founder of Chicago's The Weaving Mill.  TWM is a rare entity in commercial weaving, artist-run, combining a small industrial weaving mill with artist residencies and small run productions, and community service.  TWM designs and makes fabric in collaboration with artists and designers, and aims to fill the space between the hand and industrially made. Its work with Envisions allows adults with learning disabilities to create weaving and sewing products. Emily will share her thoughts on TWM, its projects and the ethos of the business.  Registration information is available on our website, www.illinoisprairieweavers.org/programs. Non-member registration closes May 7, midnight. Guild members receive meeting access specifics privately. Meetings are subject to change. Visit our website; see us on Facebook and Instagram. The Illinois Prairie Weavers Guild was organized in 1949 to promote and advance hand weaving. We meet to teach, encourage and inspire one another by sharing our knowledge and resources, and providing the opportunity to learn from experienced weavers.  The guild is open to anyone interested in weaving.
