Tasting History of the 1930s

Tasting History of the 1930s

Presented by Elmhurst History Museum at Online/Virtual Space

The difficulties of the Great Depression prompted creativity in many of life’s necessities, especially when it came to food and meal preparation. Join food historian Ellie Carlson on ZOOM as she prepares a menu of 1930s staples, including creamed chipped beef, candy-coated carrots and mock apple pie among others. An ingredient list will be supplied for participants who would like to cook along with Ellie. Program lasts approximately two hours. ZOOM link will be emailed to participants the week prior.
