A Swedish immigrant’s story of coming to America in the 1920’s, facing hardship during the Great Depression and developing resilience and overcoming adversity.
"My Maja: A Grandson's Tribute" weaves tradition and truth into an exciting story of the life of a Swedish immigrant to America in the 1920's. Dr. Donald Grossnickle, former Assistant Principal of Addison Trail High School, traced his grandmother's story of leaving home as a young woman, marriage, loss and hardship during the Great Depression and subsequent resilience. Those interested in historical memoirs, the 1920's and 1930's, women's history and family genealogy will gain inspiration and courage to begin their own journey.
