Weaving, Design and Collaboration by Marianne Fairbanks

Weaving, Design and Collaboration by Marianne Fairbanks

Presented by Illinois Prairie Weavers Guild at Online/Virtual Space

Marianne says, “Whether engaging poetic and aesthetic pleasures, utilitarian applications, or political and critical discourse, the unified focus of my work is textiles and the role they will play in the sustainable future of our society.”

As an assistant professor in the Design Studies department at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, she brings this mash up of passions to her students in classes like weaving and off loom structures. Marianne’s lecture will bring her varied and exciting experiences right to our doorstep.
