The Cleve Carney Museum of Art (CCMA) and McAninch Arts Center (MAC) team up with the Immigrant Solidarity DuPage, Village of Glendale Heights and Parra’s Bakery West Chicago to celebrate the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).Participants are invited to drive by to view a collection of ofrendas (a ritual collection of objects made to welcome those who have passed to the site) dedicated to Frida Kahlo and the victims of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Guests will be greeted with live mariachi music by Chicago’s own Mariachi Monumental De México and directed to where they can drop off their non-perishable food items. Everyone donating a non-perishable food item will receive tasty candy treats. In addition, Parra's Bakery West Chicago is providing 300 pieces of pan de muerto to be handed out that day.
