The Addison Historical Society and Addison Public Library are pleased to present: "Miss Amelia Roars into the 1920's" on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 7pm. Lauren Szady, of The History Envelope, will portray fictional time traveler "Miss Amelia".
Travel back in time in her imaginary time machine to the Roaring 1920's. The presentation is part PowerPoint lecture, part lecture and part performance. Learn more about the flapper and bootleg culture of the period. Was it the "norm" that popular culture today makes it out to be or was it a "fringe" movement that promoted the "strange and new".
Due to the pandemic, the program will be held virtually on the Zoom platform. The program is free of charge, but pre-registration is required.
