Virtual Lecture: The Imperial Screen:HiddenMeaning, Rhymes and Wordplay

Presented by Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art at Online/Virtual Space

The newly restored Imperial Screen was produced as a gift in 1791 during the reign of Emperor Quianlong. Decorative Motifs observed on this magnificent screen are linked to rhyming words and homonyms, common in the Chines language. Dr. Richard Pegg will reveal many motifs that help us understand the screens symbols and meanings.  50 minute live virtual program with Q&A - Purchase tickets here.
