Paul Elledge, iPhone Once A Day, Everyday, will be on display at the Park Art Center (PAC) from May 12th through July 1st, 2017 with the Opening Reception on Friday, May 12th from 6 – 9 pm. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 to 5:00 pm. All events are free and open to the public.

iPhone Once a Day, Everyday, is a project of Paul Elledge, a Chicago based photographer with solo exhibitions at a variety of galleries across Chicago, and numerous national and international group exhibits including at the Museum of Contemporary Photography. Elledge’s clients range from Warner Brothers Records to Leo Burnett USA, as well as a multitude of celebrities. Created solely on his iPhone, Elledge established rules for his iPhone Once a Day, Everyday project that requires that he shoot only black and white photographs, in a vertical orientation, every day, edited using only his iPhone’s app network, and posted as a mobile upload.

The PAC exhibit, iPhone Once a Day, Everyday, is a small representation selected from over 3,000 photos; a photographic documentation that started Jan. 1st 2009. Since that date Elledge has posted an image from his iPhone to his www.iphoneonceaday.com website, Facebook and Tumblr every day. The result is a visual diary of his life and the exhibit allows us to understand the thinking behind the project. Elledge says, “I am not a writer, thus I have chosen the camera as a tool to create a pictorial diary. I photograph every day to capture an image that mirrors an emotion, an experience, or a feeling that illustrates my state of mind for that day.”

“It is our privilege to display the beauty and power within Paul Elledge’s pictorial diary. With the touch of a button, Paul is able to share his understanding of our connected culture by utilizing his iPhone camera tools and his incredible talent. He is absolutely clever and creative in joining the viewer to both the physical and mobile tech world. This exhibit is unique; a must see.”– Wendee Goles, Co-Curator.
