This summer, the Downers Grove Park District's FREE Virtual Summer Concert Series can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home or backyard during live-streamed concerts hosted on Facebook @DownersGroveParks at 7PM every other Tuesday evening from May 26 to Aug. 18. We encourage the community to support local restaurants and breweries offering curbside pickup or delivery options to create a concert-like experience of your very own! June 23: Rosie and the Rivets (1950s)

Rosie & The Rivets: The Premier Retro Rock & Roll Show perform an electrifyingly female fronted retrospective tribute to the first ten years (1954-1964) of Rock & Roll. Along with early Rock & Roll favorites, you’ll hear Girl Group, Rockabilly, R&B, Surf, and British Invasion featuring Rosie’s powerful and versatile voice and backed by a band with extensive theater/tribute/roots music experience (members of the Rivets have worked in The Million Dollar Quartet, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, The Flat Cats and The Fab Four: Beatles Tribute).

Make no mistake, this is not your typical 'oldies playing oldies' band. Rosie & The Rivets are a high energy stage show that's fresh and fun for all ages. Audiences have a hard time staying in their seats and concerts often turn into dance parties!

July 21: Dancing Queen (Abba salute)

August 4: Sushi Roll (Pop/Cover)

If we had only one word to describe Chicago cover band sensations, Sushi Roll, it would be…ANIMAZING! Formed in early 2012, It is made up of one part driving rock band, one part light-hearted pop, and one part over-the-top theatrical verve! Tune in for a unique blend of high-energy dance music and rock n’ roll swagger. Preview here!

August 18: JK & the Jam

Led by Downers Grove native Justin Akira Kono, JK and the Jam will perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Fishel Park (behind our church building). The eight-piece band featuring vocalists Kelley Calpin and Emily Durham will perform pop, top 40 type material, 80s, R&B, Funk, and gospel songs.

Justin Kono, band leader, said that their vocalists “sing some selections in the undefinable stylings of Amy Winehouse and Paramore, all brought to life with an incredibly versatile horn section.”
