This summer, the Downers Grove Park District's FREE Virtual Summer Concert Series can be enjoyed from the comfort of your own home or backyard during live-streamed concerts hosted on Facebook @DownersGroveParks at 7PM every other Tuesday evening from May 26 to Aug. 18. June 9: The Ethan Bell Band

The Ethan Bell Band is what happens when retro-pop and country music bump boots in the back of the honky tonk. With bar bashing, boy band belting, flashy stage move dancing, and story telling that your grandma would pass out candy for, Ethan Bell, Eric Smith, Brandon Weber and Jonny Gifford have become known as one of the hardest working bands in the Chicagoland area.

June 23: Rosie and the Rivets (1950s)

Rosie & The Rivets: The Premier Retro Rock & Roll Show perform an electrifyingly female fronted retrospective tribute to the first ten years (1954-1964) of Rock & Roll. Along with early Rock & Roll favorites, you’ll hear Girl Group, Rockabilly, R&B, Surf, and British Invasion featuring Rosie’s powerful and versatile voice and backed by a band with extensive theater/tribute/roots music experience (members of the Rivets have worked in The Million Dollar Quartet, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, The Flat Cats and The Fab Four: Beatles Tribute).

Make no mistake, this is not your typical 'oldies playing oldies' band. Rosie & The Rivets are a high energy stage show that's fresh and fun for all ages. Audiences have a hard time staying in their seats and concerts often turn into dance parties! Preview here!

July 7:  Good Clean Fun (Pop)

July 21: Dancing Queen (Abba salute)

August 4: Sushi Roll (Pop/Cover)

If we had only one word to describe Chicago cover band sensations, Sushi Roll, it would be…ANIMAZING! Formed in early 2012, It is made up of one part driving rock band, one part light-hearted pop, and one part over-the-top theatrical verve! August 18: JK & the Jam

Led by Downers Grove native Justin Akira Kono, JK and the Jam will perform in a free concert at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Fishel Park (behind our church building). The eight-piece band featuring vocalists Kelley Calpin and Emily Durham will perform pop, top 40 type material, 80s, R&B, Funk, and gospel songs.

Justin Kono, band leader, said that their vocalists “sing some selections in the undefinable stylings of Amy Winehouse and Paramore, all brought to life with an incredibly versatile horn section.”
