Under the direction of John Heath, the Symphonic Band will perform “Flashing Winds” by Jan Van der Roost, and feature others works such as Percy Grainger’s “Spoon River” and H. Owen Reed’s “La Fiesta Mexicana,” and will end with Roland Seitz’s “March ‘Grandioso.’”
The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of James Hile, will open its portion of the program with “Ecstatic Fanfare” by Steven Bryant and “Aurora Awakes” by John Mackey. Christian Sanchez ’22, a sophomore jazz studies major and saxophone player, will be featured on Bernhard Heiden’s “Diversion.” Other works will include Percy Grainger’s “Molly on the Shore,” Omar Thomas’ “Come Sunday” and “Free Lance March” by John Philip Sousa.
