Postponed: Music from Japan to be featured in world music concert March 19th

This Led by the orchestra’s new director, Taka Matsunaga, the concert will feature a variety of traditional Japanese music, along with music from popular Japanese movies. Kokyo Taiko, a Japanese drumming group from Chicago, and Kaori Ichinokawa, a licensed Koto master, also will perform.

Matunaga joined the Elmhurst College faculty last fall. He is a member of the American String Teachers Association and is a founder and music director of the Midwest Philharmonic Orchestra. He has conducted in Vienna, Salzburg and Detroit, and at Chicago’s Symphony Center.

Admission Info
