Sexual Identity, Gender Identity, & Christian Faith: Or, On Being An Evangelical Christian...

Presented by The Sexual and Gender Identity Institute at Wheaton College at Wheaton College

Join us as Dr. Yarhouse introduces SGI as a research institute and highlights challenges associated with being an evangelical Christian in LGBTQ+ studies, a polarizing area of academic inquiry. He will discuss integration facing the mainstream academy and integration facing the Christian community.

Mark A. Yarhouse, Psy.D., is the Dr. Arthur P. Rech and Mrs. Jean May Rech Chair in Psychology at Wheaton College, where he directs the Sexual & Gender Identity Institute. Dr. Yarhouse has been conducting research for the past 22 years on the experiences of Christians navigating either sexual or gender identity and faith. He is the chair of the task force on LGBT+ issues for Division 36 (Psychology of Religion and Spirituality) of the American Psychological Association and author of several books, including Understanding Gender Dysphoria: Navigating Transgender Issues in a Changing Culture.
