Capture the hidden side of trees in this intermediate/advanced art workshop. Roots allow trees to take in water and nutrients and even communicate with nearby trees. Observe the intricate structures that support life above ground.
Capture the hidden side of trees in this intermediate/advanced art workshop. Roots allow trees to take in water and nutrients and even communicate with nearby trees. Observe the intricate structures that support life above ground, and work with an experienced art instructor to create a still life in colored pencil, graphite, or another medium of choice (no oils please). Participants also will visit the soils lab at the Arboretum for a brief and informative talk about why roots deserve attention.
The world underground is just as rich as the one above!
