Acappellago has created a College Composition Contest to encourage new choral works by music students. We are now proud to announce the winners of our first-ever contest!
Awards will be presented as part of our holiday themed program, "Escape to... A Winter Wonderland."
The first-place winner is Michael Barrera, a Senior at Elmhurst College studying music performance and composition.His composition, "Star of the East", will have its world premiere during the Saturday program.
The second-place winner is Ethan Jankowski, is a Sophomore composition student at Elmhurst College. An Honorable Mention goes to Alec Dickson, who started his musical career at The College of DuPage and now attends Elmhurst College. An Honorable Mention goes to John Moran, an established guitarist, recently completing his formal education at Elmhurst College.
