Opening Reception: Live Painting and solo exhibit Renewable Energy by Ken Reif

Opening Reception: Live Painting and solo exhibit Renewable Energy by Ken Reif

at Elmhurst Art Museum

Arts Dupage Month Perk: Ken Reif will be converting a small area of the gallery into his working studio and sharing his practice with the public. Come by and meet the artist at the reception or any time. Experience live painting or even paint alongside, as he creates several new works onsite during his solo show. The public is invited to the opening reception on Friday, October 18, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Reif considers his work contemporary impressionism and describes his paintings as renewable energy. Our spirit becomes renewed with each viewing. It is the greatest compliment to his art when it evokes emotion. Using an impressionist palette painted on a black background creates depth and reflects his love and respect for nature.

“Art is energy. We feel this energy not by touch, but with our eyes.”

Renewable Energy, the solo exhibition of paintings by Ken Reif will be in the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild Gallery from October 13 - November 8, 2019.

Reif was born in Chicago and currently works in his Berwyn studio. He attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and Columbia College. He is a member of several local art leagues and served as a board member and president of The Oak Park Art League.
