Performing Christianity in Shakespeare: Prayer, Providence, and the Past

Presented by The E. Beatrice Batson Shakespeare Society at Wheaton College at Wade Center 130 Bakke Auditorium

The E. Beatrice Batson Shakespeare Society at Wheaton College presents "Performing Christianity in Shakespeare: Prayer, Providence, and the Past ," a panel discussion by Susan Colon, Susan Dunn-Hensley, Jeffrey Galbraith, Andy Mangin, and Ben Weber..

Many productions of Shakespeare’s plays have included, revised, or omitted passages related to Christianity—particularly prayers. This panel, consisting of English and theater faculty, will consider how these religious moments, whether performed or not, inform our understanding of the characters and the theology of the plays, especially in relation to their endings.
