Learn about Illinois HIstory from occupation by the Native Americans up to the time of the first railroads in the early 1850’s!
The Addison Historical Society is pleased to present "The Early History of Illinois" on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 7pm. Michael Stachnik, Program Coordinator for the Elk Grove Historical Museum will be our guide to Illinois history from its occupation by Native Americans up to the time of the first railroads in the early 1850's. Some of the topics to be covered in his PowerPoint lecture include how the state developed from the Northwest Territory, slavery in Illinois and the Icarians utopian socialist movement.
The program will be held at Addison Village Hall, One Friendship Plaza in Addison in Community Room 1301. There will be a brief Historical Society meeting followed by the speaker.
