Miki Shim-Rutter will present her approach to aesthetics and practical concepts behind her teapot forms. She will discuss construction and design considerations for functionality, focusing on lid fitting, spout design, explore handles, and best practices for successful glazing. Miki lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and works at the Palo Alto Art Center Adult Studios in Palo Alto, California. Her work is represented in private and public collections nationally and internationally, and she teaches adult classes and workshops in teapot making for the wheel and for slab-building processes.
