Creating papers for collage use through a variety of surface techniques and create artwork.
The fine art medium of collage is a technique where artwork is made from an assemblage of different materials, thus creating a new whole. We will learn to respond intuitively and experiment throughout our time together.
Instructor, Laura Lein-Svencner shows students how to create collage papers, a process Laura call “building a palette.” Class members will then explore a variety of substrates including brown paper food bags with handles, watercolor paper, tar paper move to wood panels. Image transfers and drawing mediums like pastels or Caran d’Ache and Neocolor watersoluble crayons will be applied to the substrates using tack irons and gloss medium, giving participants the opportunity to make an truly original piece of art.
$225 plus Instructor material fee of $15 collected in the first class session.
