Robert Sliwinski presents basic information in an easy to understand format that helps empower the public to make informed decisions about DNA Testing for ancestry. Covered are the different types of DNA used and their origins, the tests available on the market, a guide to the testing companies and what to expect for your money. Testing companies covered include AncestryDNA, Family Tree DNA, 23 and Me, My Heritage, Genographic 2.0, Living DNA, GPS Origins, and Helix. Tests covered include Y-DNA (Paternal), MtDNA (Maternal) and Autosomal (Family Finder, Relative Finder and AncestryDNA’s test).This joint program with the DuPage County Genealogical Society begins with socializing and light snacks at 6:30P, followed by a short meeting and the presentation at 7P.
