Botanical artist Suzanne Wegener will demonstrate gouache, a water soluble medium. After the demonstration you will have time to try this versatile medium.
Gouache is similar to watercolor but has a higher ratio of pigment to binder, or has white added. This medium is perfect for rendering lush flowers or tiny details such as lichen. Suzanne Wegener has a background in scientific and medical illustration, but especially likes botanical subjects. She teaches at the DuPage County Forest Preserve, The Morton Arboretum and the DuPage Art League.
