Jens Lindemann, formerly of Canadian Brass and the first classical trumpet player to receive the prestigious Order of Canada, the highest civilian award, graces the MAC stage with the show-stopping Arutunian Trumpet Concerto. New York Times praises Lindemann’s playing as “seductive, golden timbre and virtuosic flair.” Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade based on “The Arabian Nights,” and features concertmaster Michele Lekas as the violin soloist.
On Saturday, Nov. 2, 7:30p, COT Annual Young People’s Competition Winner, Emily Ruvoli, will be playing Concertino by Cecile Chaminade on the flute with accompanist and teacher Carolyn May.
On Sunday, Nov. 3, 3p, COT Annual Young People’s Competition Winner, Yuriy Rogachev will be playing Valse in Am (Posthumos) by F. Chopin on the piano.
