Photographer James A. Bowey Explores the Needs of Displaced Peoples in Documentary Work
Following a reception in the Wheaton Public Library's Arts & Culture Center on Wednesday, June 19, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, and in tandem with the library's exhibition of his series of photographs, "When Home Won't Let You Stay," documentary photographer James A. Bowey presents a special program of photography, storytelling, and live music intended to deepen understanding of important, current issues related to refugee experiences within our own community and around the globe. This compelling presentation explores the ways we can bear witness in a contentious world, in hopes of awakening our empathetic imaginations to the possibilities of hope, liberty, and human connection.
This exhibit is funded by a grant through the DuPage Foundation.
