Downers Grove Choral Society 60th Celebration Season Concert, “Special Edition,,” Sunday, April 28, 2019, features Haydn’s The Creation, Part 1, Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore and Donald Drew’s The Coming of Arthur.
The Downers Grove Choral Society,with Artistic Director John Patrick Rakes, concludes its exciting 60th Celebration Season on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Special Edition will feature Haydn’s The Creation, Part 1, Mozart’s Vesperae solennes de confessore and Donald Drew’s The Coming of Arthur. Donald Drew was the co-founder with Thelma Milnes of the ensemble that is now the Downers Grove Choral Society.
Downers Grove Choral Society, anchored in Downers Grove, draws its members from around the Chicagoland area. Our membership extends well beyond Downers Grove, including such communities as Western Springs, Elgin, Woodridge, Lemont, Wheaton, Frankfort, Naperville, Carol Stream, Lombard, St. Charles, Villa Park and Willowbrook, to name just a few.
There will be a pre-concert discussion at 3:15 p.m., followed by the 4:00 p.m. concert.
All 2018-2019 Season concerts will be presented at Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, Downers Grove, IL.
